IQ Book (“we,” “our,” “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the “App”).

By creating an account or using the App, you acknowledge and agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

To provide a high-quality educational experience and fair competitive gameplay, we collect the following information:

a. Personal Information

• Username (display name), Name, Email address, Mobile number (optional), Date of Birth.
  Purpose: Account creation, account management, product functionality, technical support, and referral tracking.

b. Device Information

When you use the App, we automatically collect:

• Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
  Purpose: Prevent fraud, detect bot activity, and monitor app performance.

c. Usage Data

• Gameplay details such as accuracy percentages, Stars earned, levels achieved, and league participation.
  Purpose: Manage 1v1 challenges, leaderboards, user progress, and personalized experiences.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Account Management: Create, maintain, and secure your profile, level status, and referral tracking.
• Product Functionality: Verification for scholarship eligibility and academic standing.
• Security & Fraud Prevention: Detect cheating, prevent bots, and verify referral legitimacy.
• Gameplay Features: Enable 1v1 challenges, leaderboard updates, and tracking progress.
• Communication: Provide app updates, technical support, or scholarship eligibility notifications.
• Advertising: Serve personalized or non-personalized ads via Google AdMob.
  • Google may use device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. You may opt out of personalized ads via device settings.
  • On iOS devices, we comply with Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework and will request your permission before tracking your activity across apps and websites for advertising purposes, where applicable.

• Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Compliance)
  We process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:

  • Your consent (e.g., account creation, personalized ads where applicable)
  • Performance of a contract (to provide app features such as gameplay and leaderboards)
  • Legitimate interests (such as fraud prevention, app improvement, and security)

3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.

However, we use trusted third-party services to operate and improve the App:

• Google Play Services: Provides core app functionality, authentication, and security.
• Firebase (by Google): We use Firebase to support core app functionality such as push notifications, temporary data storage, and app performance monitoring. Firebase may collect device information, app usage data, and notification tokens to enable these features and ensure reliable app performance. This data is used solely to operate, maintain, and improve the App and is not used by us to personally identify users.

• Advertising (Google AdMob): We use Google AdMob to display ads.
  AdMob may collect and process the following data:

  • Device identifiers (such as Advertising ID)
  • IP address
  • App interaction data

  This data is used to:

  • Provide personalized or non-personalized ads
  • Prevent fraud and abuse
  • Improve ad performance

These third-party services may process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

We only share data with service providers strictly for app functionality, analytics, advertising, and security purposes.

Opting Out: You can reset or limit advertising tracking via your device settings (e.g., “Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS or “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android).

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, where data protection laws may differ.

We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place through trusted service providers such as Google.

5. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your data as long as your account is active.

• Right to Delete: You can delete your account directly within the App’s Settings menu.

• Effect of Deletion: Upon deletion, all personal data, level progress, and virtual rewards are permanently removed from our active databases.

• Backup & Security Logs: Some anonymized or limited technical data may be retained temporarily for security, fraud prevention, and debugging purposes. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
• In addition to the in-app settings, you may request account and data deletion by visiting our Data Request Portal at https://iqbook.org/delete-account or by emailing us at support@iqbook.org.

These logs are retained only for a limited period and are not linked to user identity.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent at any time (where applicable)

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we discover that a child has provided us with personal data, we will immediately delete such information.

8. Virtual Currency & Scholarships

• Stars: These are virtual achievements with no real-world monetary value. They cannot be purchased, sold, or redeemed for cash within the App.

• Scholarships: Our merit-based scholarship program is a skill-based initiative. While the selection and verification process may involve in-app data (such as performance metrics and application submission), the scholarships are independent grants sponsored solely by IQ BOOK. No financial transactions, entry fees, or “pay-to-win” mechanisms exist within the App.

9. Data Security

• All data transmitted between the App and our servers (including Google Firebase) is encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS). We use secure server storage and encrypted databases to protect your personal information.

• We also use temporary data storage to maintain gameplay sessions, such as quiz progress and state management.
• Users can reset their advertising ID at any time to control ad personalization.

While we take precautions, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will take appropriate steps to notify users and relevant authorities as required by applicable laws.

10. Permissions

The App may request the following permissions:

• Internet Access: To load quizzes, sync progress, and deliver ads.
• Notifications: To send you important updates such as gameplay alerts, level progress, and announcements. Firebase Cloud Messaging may be used to deliver these notifications using a device-specific token.

Permissions are requested only when necessary for specific features.

You can control permissions at any time through your device settings, but some features may not function properly.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

• We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect improvements or new features.

• This Privacy Policy applies only to the mobile application and does not apply to third-party websites or services that may be linked from within the App.

• The latest version will always be posted on iqbook.org/privacy with an updated “Last Updated” date.

• Significant changes will be notified inside the app before they take effect.
